Inauguration of the project information points
Yesterday, the Catalina’s Project Information Point was inaugurated as part of the 1st Aragon Hydrogen Week. This space will provide citizens with details about this ambitious renewable hydrogen project, which is key to the reindustrialisation and energy independence of Spain and Europe.
Until 14 June, this point will tour the municipalities of Teruel where the project will be implemented: Calanda, Alcorisa, Alcañiz, La Mata, Torre de las Arcas, Los Olmos, Foz-Calanda, Estercuel, Cañizar del Olivar, Alloza, Ariño and Andorra.
The event was attended by the Director General of Energy and Mines of the Government of Aragon, Yolanda Vallés, as well as the Director General of Strategic Planning and Logistics, Raquel Campos, in addition to the mayors of these municipalities and other authorities. Anton Martinez Rodriguez, CEO of Enagás Renovable, Uffe Winther, Managing Director of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, and José Gómez-Arroyo Bernabéu, director of the Catalina Project, had the opportunity to explain the positive impact of this initiative on the region during a conference led by Raquel Martínez Barranca, sustainability coordinator at Enagás Renovable.
What will you find at the Information Point?
-Explanatory panels on hydrogen and its role in the energy transition.
-A large-scale model of the project.
-A demonstration electrolyser.
-Audiovisual projections to learn about its impact on industry and employment.
-Experts from the Aragón Hydrogen Foundation, available to answer questions.
Promoted by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Enagás Renovable, Catalina plans to build a 500 MW renewable hydrogen production plant, together with key infrastructure and 1.1 GW of wind and solar generation assets. A pioneering project that places Aragón at the forefront of sustainable energy.
